Bahrain is a country located in the Persian Gulf. It is actually an archipelago comprising of 33 islands. Bahrain has a very old history that could be more than 5000 year old. Bahrain has been influenced by the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Persians, and the Arabs which could be the reason that Bahrain handicrafts have been influenced by a confluence of cultures.
Bahrain is a Muslim country, so people generally dress conservatively. However, Bahrain has always been open society so it is generally very tolerant provided that you are respectful. In general, Bahraini's love to dress up. So try to look as good as possible wherever you go. Clothes must always be ironed!
Bahrain is sometimes described as "Middle East lite"[94] due to its combination of modern infrastructure with a Persian Gulf identity. Unlike other countries in the region, its prosperity is not solely a reflection of the size of its oil wealth, but is also related to the creation of an indigenous middle class. This unique socioeconomic development has meant that Bahrain is generally more liberal than its neighbors. While Islam is the main religion, Bahrainis are known for their tolerance; Catholic and Christian churches, Hindu temples, Sikh Gurdwara and a Jewish synagogue can be found alongside mosques. The country is home to several communities that have faced persecution elsewhere
